Port Douglas Carnivale - 17 years of celebration

Each May, the resort town of Port Douglas transforms itself into a colourful blend of music, arts, sports, food, culture and all styles of entertainment.  This year’s Carnivale (to be held May 22-31) is no exception.  Now 17 years old, Carnivale has grown from a street fiesta to a broad program which involves the entire community.

Last year, thousands of visitors from Australia and overseas took the chance to flirt with life and engage in a kaleidoscope of free and ticketed events.  Event organizers are expecting to continue building on the momentum with a schedule of events including including the Macrossan Street Parade, the Seafood Extravaganza, Gourmet Gladiators, Longest Lunch and Quicksilver’s Food, Wine & A Taste of Port.
