Cape Tribulation Resort : A Seasonal Retreat
Dear Valued Guest,
Please be advised that based on our desire to provide the best accommodation experience for our guests, Cape Tribulation Resort will become a seasonal retreat opening 1 May – 30 November every year.
The property will move to this new model this year with closure from 1 December 2009 to 30 April 2010, reopening on
1 May, 2010.
Like the seasonal hotels of Greece, Italy, the ski regions of the world we have taken in to consideration several key factors in making this decision
- The weather – high humidity and torrential rain in an enclosed environment
- Guest preference - The optimal time of year to enjoy the World Heritage Listed surroundings is May-November.
The rainforest is still a unique and amazing place to visit during the wet season (01 Dec-30 Apr). For guests interested in visiting the Daintree during the wet season, we recommend our sister property, Ferntree Rainforest Lodge.
Ferntree’s Garden Loft or Poolside rooms offer a comparable level of comfort while maintaining the connection to the rainforest and the amazing natural surroundings. Ferntree’s is not a retreat and is more of a resort experience within walking distance to the local shops, bar and beach as well as other accommodation venues and cafes.
